Odisha weather: Yellow Warning issued for Ganjam, Mayurbhanj among 12 other districts

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar Friday issued a Yellow Warning for several districts of Odisha.

Upto 8.30 AM of June 3: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Mayurbhanj, Ganjam, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput and Rayagada districts.

In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal, Koraput, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Nabarangapur. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of the state.

From 8.30 AM of June 3 to 8.30 AM of June 4: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Gajapati, Ganjam, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Cuttack and Dhenkanal districts.

In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Angul, Kandhamal, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of the state.

The weather agency forecasted no large change in maximum temperature (day) at many places over the districts of the state. It is likely to be 42 degree Celsius or more at one or two places over the districts of interior Odisha during the next five days.

In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a partly cloudy sky with the possibility of development of Thunderstorm or lightning is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 41 degree Celsius and 28 degree Celsius respectively.

In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 43.4 degree Celsius was recorded at Sambalpur while the lowest minimum temperature of 24.0 degree Celsius was recorded at Phulbani and Nabarangpur, the bulletin informed.
