BHUBANESWAR: A festival of Indian classical dance Vasanta Utsav 2019 was organised by Nrityanjali at Bhanja Kala Mandap here Sunday.
Guru Gopal Chandra Panda, director-cum-ceo, Odisha Skill Dev. Authority, Rajesh Prabhakar Patil, journalist Kishore Dwibedi, Odissi exponent Guru Muktilata Pal, and writer Rajaniranjan Dash graced the occasion.
Nrityanjali is a registered organisation engaged in training Odissi and folk dance aspirants. Since its inception, it has contributed majourly in popularising Odissi and Sambhalpuri dances. Intensive training is provided to budding artistes at the centre.
Nrityanjali has maintained a close association with several cultural institutions of the country and abroad. It organises many festivals and cultural evenings throughout the year to promote the state’s cultural heritage.
Founder, Nrityanjali, Samaru Meher said, “Unity in diversity is the trademark of our country. The tradition of our state is an amalgamation of cultures, dance and art forms.”
Vasant Utsav 2019 gives an opportunity to younger artists from the country and abroad to showcase their talent in the biggest of stages. The organisation has completed three international classical dance festivals and competitions in New Delhi.
Odissi dance by Blue light dance studio of Bhubaneswar, Pritika kalara Gandhi from Delhi, Utkal kala Pitha of Bhubaneswar, Bharatnatyam by Udok Performing Arts from Kolkata, Kuchipudi and Bharatnatyam by Hamsavahini Kalalayam from Kolkata marked the cultural program of the evening.
