Bhubaneswar, May 10: The Orissa Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) 2015 that was held in 78 centres in 19 cities across the state Sunday passed off without incident with a whopping 44,471 candidates taking the test.
The results of the entrance examination are scheduled to be published by the first week of June.
The entrance examination has been conducted to provide admission to students into various courses including Master of Computer Application, Master of Business Administration, Master of Technology, full-time or part-time and Bachelor of Pharmacy. Candidates seeking lateral entry into engineering and pharmacy also appeared for the examination Sunday.
The examination was conducted in three sittings. The first sitting began at 9 am and ended at 11 am, with second sitting beginning at noon and ending 1 pm and the last sitting beginning at 2:30 pm and ending at 4:30 pm.
According to OJEE sources, nearly 17,000 candidates have applied for lateral entry into engineering, while nearly 9,000 have applied for MBA. About 3,100 candidates have applied for MCA and MCA lateral entry, 12,000 for pharmacy and about 3,500 for M.Tech.
OJEE authorities had deployed adequate manpower for the smooth conduct of the examination. Two centre supervisors, one superintendent along with police personnel were deputed at each examination centres.
The online application process for OJEE 2015 had begun January 15.
