Bhubaneswar: Omfed will soon introduce ice-cream and packaged drinking water, state Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Minister Gokulananda Mallik said Monday.
Speaking to reporters here, Mallik said discussions were underway on introducing the ice-cream under the Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (Omfed) brand and the board would take a final decision on the proposal soon.
He said there was also a plan to produce packaged drinking water under the Omfed brand.
The minister also spoke about the quality of Omfed milk amid recent reports of adulteration of milk and paneer in different parts of the state.
Mallik said Omfed milk undergoes a three-tier quality-checking process to ensure its safety and quality.
