Choudwar: One girl died and another person sustained severe injuries in a road mishap near OTM Bazar on National Highway 55 under Choudwar police limits here Wednesday, thanks to the bad road condition.
The deceased was identified as Lopamudra Mohanty, 24, from GGP Colony of Rasulgarh in Bhubaneswar and the injured is her friend Bharat Patala Singh, 26.
According to sources, Lopamudra and the pillion rider Singh were on their way home after visiting Dhabaleswar Pitha. However, due to the worn-out road the rider lost control and the duo fell on the road. Meanwhile, a truck (AP 05 TD 4289) which was coming from behind ran over Lopamudra and she died on the spot.
On being informed, police reached there and sent the duo to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack before seizing the truck.
