One injured in Puri bombing incident

Puri: A person sustained grievous injuries after bombs were hurled at him Friday. The incident took place in Chhotijodi village under Gadasanaput panchayat of Puri district.

The injured person has been identified as Neelakantha Chhualsingh, a resident of Chhotijodi village.

Cops suspect the incident took place owing to past enmity.

According to locals, the victim was en-route to work on his motorcycle in the morning when the incident took place. A group of four bike-borne miscreants intercepted him on the village road and targeted him with bombs.

The attackers then fired in the air to scare off the locals and escaped from the spot.

The victim sustained grievous injuries on his right hand and thigh in the attack and was rushed to Khordha district headquarters hospital (DHH) and later shifted to a private hospital for treatment by some locals.

On being informed, Khordha police reached the spot and lodged a case in connection with the incident. Further investigation is on.
