Dhenkanal: A person was killed after the bike on which he was travelling was hit by a truck near on Gondia-Bhuban road under Gondia police limits in Dhenkanal district Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Sanjeev Kumar Sahoo of Dhenkanal Housing Board Colony.
Sources said, the incident occurred when Sanjeev was on his way to a relative’s house in Bhuban area Saturday morning. The driver of the truck was on its way to Gondia lost control near Salabati brigde and collided head-on with the bike. The collision was so severe that the truck overturned on the spot.
Locals rescued the victim in critical condition and rushed him to Sriramchadrapur Community Health Centre (CHC) where he succumbed to his injuries.
