Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a speeding SUV rammed into 10 vehicles on a busy street in the Bhubaneswar Tuesday evening, killing at least one person and critically injuring seven others.
According to eyewitnesses, the black Scorpio (OD07BG1777) first hit a two-wheeler near Nuagaon Chhak. Though locals chased the vehicle, the SUV sped away, hitting nine more vehicles before crashing into a road divider near the main entrance of SUM Hospital.
Angry locals reportedly caught hold of the driver and assaulted him before handing him over to the police. An eyewitness claimed that four people, including the driver, were travelling in the SUV and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. While the driver was apprehended, the other three occupants allegedly fled the scene. An investigation has been launched by the police.
