Khordha: At least one labourer was killed after a stone-laden tractor overturned at Kendupalli village under Kantabada panchayat in Begunia area in this district Wednesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Baia Dehury, a resident of Kantabani village in Simor panchayat of the same district.
The mishap took place while Dehury was boarding the tractor which was carrying a laterite stone consignment to Begunia.
After some time, the driver of the tractor lost control over the wheels while crossing an unpaved road following which the vehicle turned turtle.
While the driver escaped unhurt, Dehury got stuck inside the tractor and was killed on the spot.
Begunia police and fire officials reached the spot later in the night and recovered the body from the mangled vehicle.
A case of unnatural death has been registered.
