Cuttack, Dec 2: Orissa got a first innings lead of 62 runs against Tripura after being bowled out for 248 on the second day of their four-day league match of the U-16 East Zone Vijay Merchant Trophy cricket tournament at the Bidanasi Ground here Wednesday.
Orissa resumed their first innings at their overnight score of 91/2 and went through a middle and lower-order batting collapse to be bundled out for less than 250. Barring Rajat Kumar Das (53, 124b, 8×4), none of the others, could impress with the bat. SS Paul (5/57) was the pick of the Tripura bowlers.
Tripura however, wiped out the deficit and were 72 for one at stumps in their second essay. BB Das (42 batting, 72b, 6×4) and RN Chakma (22 batting, 54b, 3×4, 1×6) batted well to thwart the hosts.

Goal rush for PSH Teams
Panposh Sports Hostel (PSH) sub-junior and junior teams registered resounding victories against their respective opponents in different matches of the professional segment in the Inter-City Gold Cup hockey tournament at Rourkela, Wednesday.
The PSH sub-junior team thrashed CRPF, Orissa 6-0. Krishna Tirkey and Sudeep Chirmako scored a brace each, while Satish Lakra and Cyril Lugun scored one apeice.
In another match, Suraj Minz scored five goals including a hat-trick to help PSH juniors spank Nalco 10-1. Roshan Xalxo and Biraj Topno also struck twice, while Pratap Lakra scored a goal.
Sundargarh Sports Hostel triumphed over Orissa Postal 7-3. Sanjay Xalxo scored twice, while Labun Lugur, Albert Tete, Anand Ekka and Suman Beck struck once each.
Bhubaneswar Sports Hostel (BSH) and Bhubaneswar XI played out a 1-1 draw. Sunil Toppo scored for BSH and Nitin Tigga struck for Bhubaneswar XI.
