Hinjilicut: Myra Muni, a five-year-old Oriya girl of Hinjili in Ganjam district, brought pride and honour to the State by winning the Little Miss Galaxy India-2017 title at a national-level contest for children on beauty and talent held in Bangalore.
Winning this award, Myra has been qualified to represent the country at the Grand finale that will be held at Bansko in Bulgaria next month. It was indeed a proud moment for her parents Malaya Muni and Nandini Muni.
Myra’s village turned into a celebratory mood with relatives and locals rejoicing on the girl’s feat. The girl is only five-year-old and studying in UKG, locals said. She brought much glory to the village at a very young age, they added. Ironically, no one from India had won the beauty contest in the last eight years.
Myra restored hopes and confidence in the minds of aspiring children like her.
According to sources, Myra’s father Malaya is the Chief Instructor in Air India and resides in Bangalore with his family.
Her mother Nandini is a housewife and her inspiration. The event was organised by an agency for children in the age group of 4-13 years.
The little girls had to walk ramp like adult models and competed for various categories as part of the pageant.
Myra’s proud parents are hopeful that she would also perform well in final contest in Bulgaria. PNN
