Cuttack: A nationwide protest against the military aggression on Iran by the imperialist powers— the United States and Israel was organised at the Ravenshaw University Square here Sunday. The protest was part of a broader demonstration organised by Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist) against the unprovoked attacks on Iran.
Protesters strongly condemned the attacks, which are seen as a blatant act of aggression and also criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his inappropriate addressing of Israeli Prime Minister as ‘brother.’
The speakers condemned the military actions against Iran as a direct result of America’s imperialistic policies, which have supported and instigated Israel’s military aggression. They described this as part of the US effort to expand its influence in the region through such unprovoked and naked acts of war.

The assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei was cited as a violation of international norms and Iran’s sovereignty. The protest was led by SUCI(C) district coordinator Khageshwar Sethi.
Prominent leaders including Basanta Nayak, Babi Balabantrai, Siddhartha Rath, Bhagyarabi Das, Saubhagya Samal, Binod Sethy, Deepak Das, Tarun Sen Nayak, Isha Dhar, Akshay Raul, Shibani Sahu, Swadhin Behera, Advocate Pratap Chandra Mishra, Shubhasmita Sahu, Jotsarani Das, Sachiranjan Behera, and Sujata Mahapatra joined the protest.
