Bhubaneswar: Additional Chief Secretary to the Housing and Urban Development department and Chairperson of IDCO Usha Padhee Wednesday reviewed the progress of the Kalinganagar National Industrial Corridor (KNIC) in Jajpur district, with emphasis on accelerating industrial expansion along with urban infrastructure development.
During her visit, Padhee held detailed discussions with the District Collector, officials of the Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) and the District Investment Promotion Agency (DIPA).
The deliberations centred on streamlining land allocation, strengthening infrastructure provisioning, and ensuring industrial growth is aligned with essential urban services.
The visit highlighted the state government’s emphasis on proactive field-level monitoring, expediting industrial and urban infrastructure readiness, and enhancing inter-departmental coordination to create a sustainable, investment-ready ecosystem in the state.
As part of the review, Padhee conducted an extensive field inspection of the Kalinganagar industrial region to assess land development, strategic infrastructure initiatives, and the status of key urban development projects.
She began by inspecting nearly 600 acres of land at Alijanga and later reviewed the Sukutijhara area to evaluate the preparedness of these zones for future industrial expansion.
Apart from industrial infrastructure, Padhee also assessed the progress of ongoing urban development projects and flagship schemes in the district.
Special attention was given to strengthening civic infrastructure, improving service delivery, and enhancing the quality of life in rapidly developing industrial townships.
The visit reaffirmed the state’s commitment to transforming Kalinganagar into a major industrial hub supported by robust urban planning and sustainable development initiatives.
