Cuttack, March 12: Palabendu Mishra (110 n o) batted brilliantly and helped Bhubaneswar-A win the Inter-District Kalahandi Cup cricket tournament defeating Bhubaneswar-B by nine wickets in the final at the Nimpur Ground here Thursday.
Despite getting a crucial first innings lead, Bhubaneswar-B had to pay for their complacency. Chasing a victory target of 200 runs, Bhubaneswar-A resuming on their overnight score of 35 without loss, cantered home easily losing only one wicket on the fourth and the final day. Palabendu was well supported by fellow opener Santosh Debkant (80).
Bhubaneswar-B bowlers tried their best, but could not make any major inroads. Md. Azhar (1/37) bagged the only wicket to fall on the day.
