Malkangiri: Forest officials arrested seven persons and seized a pangolin from their possession at MV-10 village in Malkangiri district.
Following receipt of information regarding the presence of wildlife smugglers, a special team of Malkangiri Forest Division conducted raid at MV-10 village Wednesday night and arrested the accused.
“The accused were under forest department’s scanner for the past few months. The traders were selling pangolins for high prices in China and Thailand,” said Mirase Pradeep Devidas, DFO, Malkangiri
The arrested persons have been forwarded to court and further investigation is underway in the case.
