Bhubaneswar: Housing and Urban Development (H&UD) Minister Pratap Jena Thursday said all the 114 urban local bodies (ULBs) of the state will get fresh and safe drinking water through pipelines by 2020.
Jena said this while chairing a review meeting of the projects in four ULBs of Balasore district Thursday. The minister also said electrification work will be completed by December 31, 2019 and LED lights will be installed in the ULBs by 2020.
“Though the deadline for providing water connectivity to every household and construction and maintenance of street lights in the ULBs is March 2020, we will try to complete it by December 31, much before the targeted time,” said the minister.
He also deliberated on water facilities and status of smart parks under the municipalities of Balasore, Soro and Jaleswar municipality and Nilagiri NAC.
