Bhubaneswar: A man died after he entered into a septic tank for an inspection at Satya Vihar in Rasulgarh under Mancheswar police limits Sunday.
The deceased, identified as Sanjaya Mohanty,47, of Bhandaridiha village in Keonjhar district, was residing at Ishaneswar slum in Niladri Vihar area under Chandrasekharpur police limits here. He worked as a plumber and a contractor in the Capital. As per the fire department sources, the department received a call from Gyana Ranjan Bhanja, the owner of the house where the work was in progress, regarding the mishap around 1:05 pm Sunday. Bhanja informed the fire officials that Mohnaty had entered into the tank to undertake some inspection after the wooden planks used for centering were removed.
The fire officials rushed to the spot and recovered him dead from the septic tank.
Mancheswar police registered a case (No 50/18) of unnatural death.
