Bhubaneswar: In a bid to streamline admissions into Plus II courses, the state government Wednesday made it clear that it would adopt only online mode for registration of students from the academic year 2018-19.
The registration for admission into Plus II courses for the academic session 2018-19 would start soon and will be done through online mode only, said a senior official of the school and mass education (S&ME) department.
“The admissions will be done only though online mode under project Student Academic Management System (SAMS). Admission in offline mode is strictly prohibited from the session 2018-19,” the S&ME department said here in a statement.
Earlier, the government was inviting applications in both online and offline modes. However, the change was necessitated as some fake institutions come with advertisements in print and electronic media for admissions into higher secondary schools (Plus II).
The government has advised students, parents and public to verify the list of junior colleges coming under SAMS on www.sme.odisha.qov.in or www.samsodisha.gov.in before taking admissions and avoid offline admission in fake colleges.
The S&ME department has also warned of legal actions against educational agencies that will violate this decision. “The government will not be held responsible for any wrong decisions of the students and parents,” it said.
