Nimapara: A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a minor boy of her village under Charichhak police outpost here.
The incident happened August 16 following which the victim’s father lodged a complaint with Nimapara police Saturday.
Accepting the complaint, police registered a case in connection with the incident and detained the accused boy.
“We are interrogating the accused. The victim as well as the accused would be sent for medical examinations Sunday,” said an official of Nimapara police.
According to the complaint, the girl, a Plus II student of a college near Charichhak, had gone to a grazing land near the village to trace their cow August 16. Finding her alone, the 17-year-old accused raped her near a half-built overhead water tanker, said the complaint.
Moreover, the accused, a Plus II student of a Kakatpur-based college, misbehaved with the victim while she was at their backyard Friday.
The accused allegedly threatened the girl to upload her obscene photos on social media. He also threatened to kill the girl by pouring acid on her, the complaint said.
The father of the accused boy allegedly hurled abuses at the victim’s father when he took up the issue with the former.
