Bhubaneswar, April 30: Results of Plus II examinations conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) are expected to be out by May-end after examiners wrapped up evaluation of nearly four lakh answer scripts Thursday.
The examiners managed to finish evaluations ahead of the April 30 deadline that the CHSE had fixed.
Nearly 4,000 examiners were appointed for the job. The process began March 30 and was completed in a month. “Evaluation of all the answer scripts are over despite a few hiccups. Results will be published by end of May,” said CHSE chairman Basudev Chhatoi.
Some answer-scripts meant to be evaluated under the newly-introduced e-evaluation process were initially not evaluated as there were issues with legibility of the scanned copies. “A few scanned copies of answer-scripts under e-evaluation process led to brief disruption, but all of those copies too have been evaluated,” Chhatoi said.
The chairman said issues like non-availability of examiners, problems with e-evaluation and dearth of computer science faculty initially hampered the evaluation process but they were ironed out to ensure the process was finished by deadline.
The e-evaluation process was initiated in only five subjects of Science stream – Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Botany and Zoology.
“Despite a few problems in the beginning, the online evaluation was also completed in time. Examiners are now all set to take up the job on a larger scale from the forthcoming academic year,” said Chattoi.
