Kendrapara: A married woman from Dimiripal panchayat under Aul block in Odisha’s Kendrapara district accused a local political leader of making unscrupulous remarks at her to avail PMAY (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana) benefits.
The woman said “I do not understand why I’m being deprived of a house. Once a local leader told me ‘You understand my problem, I will understand yours’. Although he didn’t particularly say what he meant by that, he was possibly hinting at sexual favour or money”.
“I have voted for them, what more do they want from us,” she complained.
According to the woman, she has received the work order. However, the money was not sanctioned to her bank account.

Another resident in the same area also alleged that he was deprived of PMAY benefits as he was unable to pay bribe to concerned authorities.
