Baripada: As per a decision of the district establishment board, the police department effected a major shake-up in Mayurbhanj district Sunday.
SP Anirudha Singh had visited various police stations and reviewed their functioning and put the transfer into effect. A total of 22 police officials including 17 inspectors and five sub-inspectors were shifted from their places on the basis of their efficiency and style of working.
Baripada town IIC, who has been in controversy on some issues, was shifted to Udala police station. His transfer has come following allegations by the Congress and other organisations that law and order has deteriorated in Baripada town. The Congress had accused the IIC of having links with the land mafia.
Tillottama Rout, inspector of Baripada police station, was transferred to Rasgobindapur. Rout was accused of inaction against the culprits, who had circulated an obscene video of a girl student in November, 2017. Swarnalata Minj of Morada has replaced Rout.
Bangiriposi inspector Gobindachandra Behera was shifted to Betanoti police station; Betanoti IIC Minati Biswal to Bangiriposi; Badasahi IIC Pascal Ikka to Raruan; Udala inspector Ratikant Giri to Jashipur PS; Baripada (DRB) inspector NK Mohapatra to Kaptipada; Raruan IIC Pradip Kumar Kerketa to Tiring PS; Jashipur IIC Sharat Mallick to Gahagarabeda PS; Rairangpur IIC Pradip Kumar Majhi to Morada PS; Rasgobindapur IIC Ranjan Kumar Sethi to Rairangpur.
Besides, Kaptipada IIC Ramchandra Sahu was shifted to IUCAW while Rasgobindapur IIC Ismail Ikka was shifted to the district headquarters.
OIC of Rairangpur rural PS, Jaynarayan Khandei was shifted to Badasahi; OIC of Tiring rural PS, Padmalochan Panigrahi, was shifted to Rairangpur rural PS; Badampahad OIC NK Das was shifted to Bisoi PS; while Bisoi OIC PL Behera was shifted to Badampahad PS.
Gourahari Patra, who was DSI at the district headquarters, was shifted to Baripada Sadar PS. PNN
