Poor couple struggles to treat 3 physically challenged children

Bhadrak: A poor couple of Oralibindha village in Gobindapur panchayat in Bhadrak district has been leading a miserable life, as they are burdened with three physically challenged kids.

When the couple – Santosh Bal and Sandhyarani Bal – finds it hard to arrange two square meals a day, making arrangement for the treatment of their disabled minor children- two sons and a daughter is just beyond their reach, said locals.

The children –Subhankar, Sarbeswar, and Sikharani–are unable to do their own work without the support of their parents. The couple had tried their best to treat Subhankar at Swami Vevekananda Institute of  Rehablitation  Training and Research (SVNIRTAR),Olatpur  in Cuttack district  and SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, but it was ineffective.

They couple are so broke that they are unable to repair their thatched house.

Taking pity on the poor couple, Asif Ali, the owner of an educational institute, had brought the family to the district headquarters hospital by hiring an auto rickshaw.

Ali urged the CDMO to arrange treatment of the three kids under Rashtriya Bal Swastya Yojna at Sishu Bhawan in Cuttack.

Locals demanded a house for the poor family under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.     PNN
