Odagaon: Dak Sevaks (postal employees) of Odagaon, Bahadjhola, Kural and Sarankul areas in Nayagarh district launched an indefinite strike demanding fulfillment of their three demands. The strike has put the people in trouble.
Acting on the call given by All India Dak Sevak Union, the sevaks locked their respective branch offices and staged a dharna at the main gate of the sub post office. Their demands included implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission, payment of outstanding salaries at one go and implementation of recommendations of the Kamlesh Chandra Committee.
Essential services were badly hit in these areas.
