Bhubaneswar, June 8: Asmita Bal, a visual communication designer from Orissa was honored by Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan in Mumbai recently. Asmita had won a poster design competition.
She had made the winning poster for the Big B starrer ‘Te3n’ and it was displayed on a billboard at juhu chowpathy, Mumbai, among other places.
The poster design was part of a competition for the promotion of the film and the competitors made posters, videos, poems, and games. Big B and Vidya Balan felicitated the winners.
Asmita was born and brought up in Rourkela and had married Arun Kumar Swain of Kendrapara, a motion graphic artist. Her father Ashok Kumar Bal is an thespian with more than 40 years of experience in theatre. Asmita is also trained in Hindustani classical music and has bagged many prizes in music, art, theatre and drama. She is currently based in Mumbai and has worked with many media houses in Mumbai.
She has stated that she wanted to do something for the artist community of Orissa.
