Cuttack, May 4: Pragati Sporting beat Biswabharati Cricket Club (BCC) by 31 runs to enter the semifinals of the Sumit Bose Memorial U-16 cricket tournament at the SCB Ground here Monday.
Riding on a fighting half century by Biswajit Mohanty (88, 133b, 14×4), Pragati scored 194 for the loss of six wickets in the stipulated 40 overs after opting to bat first. Amit Das (2/35) bowled a restrictive line for BCC.
In reply, BCC were bundled out for 163 in 36.2 overs with contributions from Shibashis Sahoo (39, 66b) and Sai Shyam Mohanty (30, 39b). Sreyas Goutam (5/30) turned out to be their nemesis with his five wicket haul. Biswajit was adjudged the man of the match for his patient knock.
