President Ram Nath Kovind reaches Rourkela

Rourkela: President Ram Nath Kovind Sunday reached Rourkela to grace the 18th annual convocation ceremony of NIT.

Governor Ganeshi Lal and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan have also accompanied him.

President Kovind and first lady Savita Kovind had reached Biju Patnaik International Airport Saturday 6:25 pm. They stayed at the Raj Bhawan Saturday night.

Besides attending the annual convocation of NIT, he will inaugurate a super specialty hospital here.

The inauguration of the super specialty hospital is scheduled to be held at 3:45 pm. Thereafter, the President will fly back to Bhubaneswar at 4:30 pm.

To maintain law and order situation during the President’s stay in the Steel City, 40 platoons of police forces have been deployed.

Kovind will visit the India Oil Foundation Trust Interpretation Centre at Konark March 22. From there, he is expected to go to Puri to pay obeisance to Lord Jagannath. He will fly back to New Delhi Monday evening.
