Nirakarpur: The body of a priest was recovered from Maa Siddheswar’s shrine at Olasingh near Jankia in Khordha district Sunday.
Somnath Biswal worked as a priest in the temple for 15 years. When the temple gate was opened Sunday morning, people found Somnath’s body lying in a pool of blood, with deep cut wounds on the right side of his head, left hand, and face.
The wound marks have raised suspicion that it was a murder. The villagers took him to Khordha district hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.
Sanuj Baral, a villager, registered a complaint with the police.
