Bhubaneswar, June 27: Several days after the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Orissa Crime branch (CB) questioned popular Ollywood actor Tatwa Prakash Sathpathy for his alleged links with Sarala Realcon Private Limited, CB superintendent of police Rajendra Patnaik told Orissa POST the actor’s involvement in any sort of misappropriation of funds has not been established so far.
“So far, we have not found any evidence that shows Sathpathy had misappropriated Sarala funds,” Patnaik said.
It was alleged that Sarala had invested in Sathpathy’s film titled Chauka Chakka. In March, the EOW arrested Sarala’s managing director Gayadhar Jena for defrauding over 250 people to the tune of `15 crore.
Sources said Sathpathy, who is popularly known as Papu Pom Pom, had played a lead role in the film and the EOW enquired about how much the actor was paid and if he had any information of the investment details.
