Puri: An imposter jawan was detained from Talabania parade ground in Odisha’s Puri Tuesday during the Independence Day celebrations.
According to a source, the detained youth is from Kumbharpada area of Puri district.
The youth had entered the ground wearing Army uniform in the morning. The uniform had a nameplate with Sunil Kumar written on it, added the source.
The youth had initially covered his face and was spotted inside the seating space reserved for media. Later, a senior official started interacting with him and discovered that he is not from the Army.

Why the man had entered the stadium impersonating a jawan is yet to be ascertained.
Police have detained the accused and an investigation into the matter is underway.
