Bhubaneswar: Youth Congress leader and Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Biswaranjan Mohanty has been appointed as one of the two All India Congress Committee (AICC) secretaries in charge of Gujarat by party president Rahul Gandhi.
“Rahul Gandhi has appointed Jitendra Baghel and Biswaranjan Mohanty as AICC secretaries for Gujarat with immediate effect,” a press release issued by AICC general secretary Ashok Gehlot said Tuesday.
Mohanty is the former national general secretary of Youth Congress (IYC). Baghel is also a former secretary and general secretary of Youth Congress (IYC).
A PHD-holder from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Mohanty is a native of Nimapara and had his political initiation there.
