Cuttack, Jan 24: Rajesh Ranjan Das (5/47) bowled brilliantly and Sourav Gouda (100 n o) hit a scintillating century to put their respective teams Cuttack-A and Bhubaneswar-A in the driver’s seat on the first day of the two-day semifinal matches of the OCA U-16 Inter-District Sumit Bose Memorial Trophy cricket tournament at different Grounds here Saturday.
At the Sunshine Ground, Kendrapara could not face a fiery Rajesh’s spell and were bundled out for 202. Rajat Das (47) continued with his brilliant form but missed out a well deserved half century. In reply, Cuttack-A were 41 for the loss of one wicket at the end of day one.
At the Bidanasi Ground, Bhubaneswar-A batted at a snail’s pace, but were well placed on 244 for the loss of four wickets with Sourav Gouda (100 n o) emerging as the top scorer. At stumps, Sourav was accompanied by Ansuman Sinha (36 n o)
