Bhubaneswar: The most anticipated movie Sanju based on the life of Sanjay Dutt released in city theatre here Friday.
The film buffs and fans of Sanjay and Ranbir Kapoor thronged the screens to watch the portrayal of Sanjay Dutt’s character by Ranbir Kapoor with aplomb.
Sumeet Singh Thakur said the director Rajkumar Hirani had succesfylly showcase the powerful, engaging, emotional, compelling story of Sanju and proved once more that he is a master storyteller.
The movie somewhere showed how media jumped to conclusions, branding Sanjay Dutt a terrorist, which was never proved in court. The movie revolves around sufferings of his fmily because of that and also the father son bond of Sanjay Dutt and Sunil Dutt played by Paresh Rawal.
Dipanwit Dashmohapatra said that Ranbir Kapoor has again impressed us with his acting,. The actor had lived the life of Sanjay in the movie. He entered into the skin of the character and lived the part earnestly.
Making a biopic isn’t easy, but Hirani encompass pertinent episodes from Dutt’s life to weave a spellbinding screenplay he said. Sanju is an emotional journey which goes beyond providing mere entertainment.
The Ensemble cast shine in their respective parts. Paresh Rawal, Vicky Kaushal, Anushka Sharma, Jim Sarbh, Dia Mirza and Manisha Koirala have played their parts beautifully. Especially actor Vicky Kaushal; who has played the role of Sanju’s friend in the movie, is creating a place for himself in the industry with his recent portrayal of characters in the movie such as Raazi, Raman Raghav 2.0 and now Sanju.
Sidhantha Kar said that Ranbir Kapoor had impressed with his acting earlier as well, but this time he managed to slip into the skin of the troubled film star and pulled out the stops in astonishingly way. We almost thought of him as Sanjay Dutt. Director Hirani again proved that his story telling has magic. Sanju, is an entertainer that delivers more than just the superficial goods that one expects from a mass entertainer. It sets a new benchmark for biopics which will be a hard act to follow he said.
Film Critic Sriram Ray said Sanju is a must watch movie because of impeccable acting by Ranbir Kapoor.
