post news network, Bhubaneswar, March 25: Above 80 students of the Rashulgarh Ashram Vidyalaya were given prizes for their outstanding performance in various competitions, during their 1st prize distribution ceremony held on their school premises in the city, Wednesday.
A student of class VII, Phuleswari Tudu was awarded first prize for excellence in dance and painting. Besides she also bagged many prizes for her good performance in different competitions like song, skipping, Kho Kho etc. Padmini Sayan and Rajani Badra were also awarded for being joint-top winners in the quiz competition held on the ocassion. These two want to become doctors in future.
The primary school comprising of 110 tribal students hosted their first function marked by several cultural activities. Performance of budding talents enthralled the guests and the audience during the programme.
“This function will surely boost students to take part in any competition throughout the state. We have planned to host such competitions or functions so that the students can polish their talents. Besides we will help these students to shape their inner skills as they can compete with this world,’ said Minali Dalal, headmistress of the school.
Sub-collector Binay Kumar Dash, district welfare officers Parikhita Dash, welfare extension officer Bhagaban Sahu were present in the function.
