Cuttack, April 30: Ravenshaw University here has again hogged the limelight Thursday as students staged protests on the campus alleging irregularities in evaluation of fifth semester examination papers disrupting life at the varsity.
Students of Business Management stream alleged that several questions in the fifth semester examination of final year were out of course.
The agitated students locked the main entrance of the varsity and staged a demonstration which lasted several hours.
In view of the students’ protest, college authorities announced that a committee comprising teachers of the commerce department, would be formed to look into the matter and if required, reset the question paper, which will lead to a re-examination.
Meanwhile, due to the unrest at the campus, examinations for as many as 11 papers of the Plus III Final Year (Arts, Science and Commerce) of different subjects, which were scheduled to be held Thursday, were cancelled leading to disappointment among students.
The students had reached the varsity on time with required documents. The examination was scheduled to start at 8am but they were informed that all examinations for the day have been cancelled.
