Bhubaneswa: Bhubaneswar division Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials Saturday produced five directors of Real Tulip India Limited, who were arrested by the agency in Kolkata on charges of cheating several investors, in a court here.
CBI sources said the central agency urged the court to grant them permission to take the officials on five-day remand for further questioning in the case. “However, the court granted CBI three-day remand of the five,” they added.
CBI officials said Tulip India directors Dipankar Ghosh, Malay Halder, Prasenjit Sil, Tirtha Halder and Malay Kumar Guha, who were brought to Bhubaneswar from Kolkata, have been taken on remand. Sources said the tainted firm was registered in Gwalior (MP) January 18, 2012 and collected deposits from investors in West Bengal and Orissa. Earlier in 2015, the CBI had raided Tulip India’s offices at Balasore in the state and in West Bengal. PNN
