Red banner found in Bargarh district

Paikamal: Maoists have once again made their presence felt in Paikamal area under Padmapur sub-division of Bargarh district after a banner of the Left-wing extremists were found hanging here, Thursday. Police seized a banner from Bhuliabandha area about 9 km from Paikamal.

The banner written in Hindi and addressed by Communist Party of India (Maoist) alleged that political leaders and contractors are involved in corruption while executing public welfare schemes like construction of check dams and that people are forced to migrate to other states for work due to lack of livelihood opportunities. Paikamal IIC Biswajit Manbodh said the banner was seized and an investigation launched.
