Bhubaneswar: Sriya Smruti Raut was crowned the Pantaloons Miss Raja 2018 by Bollywood diva Richa Chadda at the Pantaloons store in Sahid Nagar here Wednesday. The event was also attended by Ollywood actor Suryamayee Mohapatra. The model hunt, hosted by Pantaloons-Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd, received phenomenal response with the participation of over 2000 women.
The young and gorgeous contestants walked the ramp with confidence and grace as they flaunted the latest Pantaloons Summer 2018 collection which included bell sleeves, bardo tops, pinafore dresses, maxi skirts, long-length asymmetric kurtas in floral, geometric and foil prints. Pantaloons marketing and loyalty head Gaurav Chakravarty congratulated the winners and thanked the participants from Cuttack and Bhubaneswar for their overwhelming response. Sriya Smruti Raut received prizes worth Rs20,000 along with an exclusive opportunity to feature in a Pantaloons video show.
As many as 30 contestants were short listed after a few rounds of tests from among the 2,000 participants. Sriya Smruti was adjudged the winner of the Pantaloons crown in the final round. Suryamayee and Richa adjudged the performance of the contestants until the crowning glory.
Richa Chadda said she was keen on visiting Odisha after seeing the photographs of Puri Rath Yatra among other things. “The gorgeous beaches of Puri and alluring photographs of Rath Yatra have attracted me. I was waiting for an opportunity to visit Odisha and finally I landed here and am glad to judge a beauty event,” Chadda said adding she was excited to be present at a festive occasion meant for marriageable girls. Richa gave credence to the city’s beauty as well as the affable people of the state who have greeted her with their love and warmth.
