Rourkela: Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has surpassed an important milestone by successfully grinding 10000 Rolls since it started operation in 2019.
The ultramodern Roll Shop which caters to the Hot Strip Mill-2 (HSM-2) of SAIL achieved the milestone February 19.
Director In-Charge (DIC), RSP Atanu Bhowmick Monday visited the Roll Shop Department and congratulated the employees of the Roll Shop and HSM-2 as well as all associated agencies on reaching the milestone.
“Roll Shop plays a key role in achieving the desired techno-economics, and also vital for the Mills to achieve their targets in terms of both quantity and quality,” he added.
The DIC expressed confidence that the synchronized efforts of team Roll Shop and HSM-2 would bring outstanding results in the coming days.
It is noteworthy that one of the important keys in the production process of HR Coils is Roll machining.
The Roll Shop of the 3 Million Tonne Per Annum state-of-the-art HSM-2 of RSP is equipped with fully automated CNC Roll Grinders and Knife Grinders with Roll data integration with HSM-2 Level-2 System to ensure precise and efficient machining of different types of rolls.
