Rourkela: Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), a unit of Maharatna Company SAIL registered good performance in key areas in the first 10 months from April- January period of the Financial Year 2022-23.
The Steel Plant produced 3588289 tonnes of Hot Metal, 3375806 tonnes of Crude Steel and 3131855 tonnes of Saleable Steel to clock its best April-January performance in the respective areas since inception.
The earlier best April- January performance in all these key areas was achieved in FY 2021-22.
With an all-time high production of 5867840 tonnes of sinter during the 1st ten months of the current fiscal, the Sinter Plants complemented the success story.
The average Oven Pushing from Coke Oven Battery-6 also witnessed the best-ever figure of 90.2 in April-January.
The State-of-the-art Hot Strip Mill – 2 rolled 198390 tonnes of HR Coils to record its best monthly performance in January 2023 thereby improving upon its earlier best monthly production of 197761 tonnes achieved in December 2022.
The New Plate Mill also clocked its best January performance by rolling 83698 tonnes of plates surpassing its earlier best January performance achieved in 2019.
RSP Director In-charge Atanu Bhowmick has urged the employees to further step up efforts in the remaining part of the current fiscal to end the fiscal on a high note.
