Bhubaneswar: Stepping up the drive against cash flow for elections, the police seized Rs 2.5 lakh from a man at Biju Patnaik International airport (BPIA) here, Thursday. According to IIC of Airport police station, Tusharkant Sethi, the accused has been identified as Sachin Parik. He is a native of Jharsuguda area who arrived here by a flight Wednesday night, he said. Giving further details, Sethi said, “Sachin works as a construction builder in Jharsuguda.
However, it has not been clear whether the cash was meant for political donations or regular purposes. The cops would probe the incident further for more details.” Sources in the Airport said the incident came into light after security officials in the bag-check counter detected the cash in Sachin’s bag. During questioning, he was not able to give a satisfactory answer.
