Bhubaneswar, Jan 23: The three-day tour of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) to Rama Devi (RD) Women’s College ended Friday.
Though the three-member NAAC team comprising Bharati Rai, Bedamurti AB and BQ Safi assessed the infrastructure among other things, it is yet to provide any grade to the institution. The team was of the opinion that the college has a good environment for imparting quality education to students. However, a lot more needs to be done to strengthen the research activities, it added.
College principal Chitrangada Samantasinghar said, “We were fully prepared for the visit of the NAAC team and we hope the college will obtain a good grade from the team this time.” The proposed university has earlier got ‘A’ grade from the NAAC.
According to sources the NAAC team met the higher education joint secretary Ajay Nayak Thursday and discussed the infrastructure issues for which the department has sanctioned `20 lakh to the institution.
