Rourkela: In view of recent reports of illegal transactions (sale/lease/license) involving properties of the SAIL-run Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), a warning has been issued against those falsely representing themselves as either property owners or agents of SAIL and RSP.
Authorities have cautioned people/companies against engaging in any such transactions. In a press release issued Friday, the steel major has cautioned the general public not to fall prey to the fraudulent activities. “People are hereby informed and cautioned against engaging in any transactions related to Properties (Land/Building/Houses) with the Lessee/Licensee of Steel Authority of India Limited and Rourkela Steel Plant without its explicit consent,” the statement said. “The general public is also strongly advised to exercise caution and refrain from entering into any dealings with such individuals.
In the event that anyone occupies SAIL and RSP properties through such transactions, legal action under the Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Act 1971 will be initiated against the trespasser at their own cost and risk,” the release further stated. The release also pointed out that it has been observed that some unscrupulous persons are engaging in unlawful activities on RSP land. “These people are encroaching on RSP land, occupying vacant quarters, setting up unauthorised kiosks and erecting flex posters and hoardings in RSP area without proper permission,” the release said. “All such individuals involved in such activities are hereby cautioned to cease their illegal activities immediately. Failure to comply will result in strict penal action in accordance with the law and/or Company Policy,” the release added.
SAIL and RSP authorities have urged the public to verify the authenticity of any transaction or dealing related to its properties. They have been asked to report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
