Cuttack, May 8: Saheed Sporting scripted an emphatic eight wickets victory over Pragati Sporting to enter the final of the Sumit Bose Memorial U-16 cricket tournament at the SCB Medical Ground here Friday. Saheed Sporting will meet Rising Students Club in the final, Sunday.
Pragati Sporting opted to bat first after winning the toss, but their batters could not resurrect themselves from the early jitters created by Sandeep Chauhan (3/21) and Sd Aman Ali (3/27). They were bundled out for 117 in 37.3 overs with only Surup Mohapatra (28, 72b, 3×4) and Biswajit Mohanty (17, 43b, 1×6) scoring in double digits.
In reply, Saheed Sporting cruised home in 31 overs for the loss of two wickets, courtesy a fine knock by Jyoti Ranjan Behera (49, 73b, 8×4). He was well supported by the in-form Sraban Bunga (32, 84b, 1×4).
Sd Aman Ali was adjudged the man of the match for his fiery spell to do the maximum damage at the top of the order.
