Cuttack, April 29: Saheed Sporting Club registered an emphatic nine wickets victory over Union Sporting Club to enter the quarterfinals of the Sumit Bose Memorial U-16 cricket tournament at the SCB Medical Ground here Wednesday.
Opting to bat first, Union Sporting scored 112 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the rain truncated 25 overs match. Anurag Kanojia (54, 57b, 5×4) hit a fine half century while Arya Jena (2/11) and Syed Aman Ali (2/18) bowled well for Saheed Sporting.
In reply, Sraban Bunga (51, 58b, 5×4, 1×6) and Uditansu Parida (30, 56b, 2×4) batted with responsibility to ensure Saheed Sporting victory in 21.2 overs for the loss of only one wicket. Sraban was adjudged the man of the match for his brilliant batting display.
