Cuttack, Dec 24: Sambit Panda of Orissa emerged sole leader with eight points after the end of the eighth round of the All India Open Fide Rating Chess Championships at the Sachin Tendulkar Indoor hall here Thursday. Sambit is on a great run, having won all his matches on the first two days of the competition.
Swayan Baran Dey is just a point behind Sambit on second spot while Rajendra Kumar Sahoo, Pranab Kumar Patra, Arya Bhakta are sharing the joint third spot with 6.5 points. The tournament will end Friday and it looks that Sambit will emerge victorious in the event.
Selection trial
Roller Skating Association of Orissa will organise a two-day selection trial for the 53rd National Roller Skating Championships starting Friday at the Cambridge School here. The camp will be supervised by Roller Skating Federation of India’s observers and
selectors.
