‘Sanja Sakala’ bags award

BHUBANESWAR: ‘Sanja Sakala’ was announced as the ‘best education film’ in the 6th Odisha State Tele Awards declaration press meet organised by cultural department. Winners of the 29th Odisha State Film Awards were also announced in the press meet.
The 25-minute movie is produced by Satyakant Sahoo and directed by Manas Parida. The movie features Manoj Mishra, Bhaktilata, Chintamani, Florence, Subhanshu, Bharat Kumar and child artist Swajala Dash among others.
Manas Parida, who had directed many award winning short movies such as Maa, Bapa and Dhoka among others said, “Being recognized by the state for a movie based on education is a proud moment for me. The film was also selected for the third International short film Festival at Pune in December 2018.”
Talking about the movie, he said, “It’s a nostalgic picture of the day-to-day happenings in human lives. A man needs to satisfy his addictions. He loses everything like status, character and lives of his loved ones. The movie is a plea to the society not to destroy everything to satisfy addictive needs.”
“These movies must be recognised so that other filmmakers are inspired to make such movies,” said Mishra. The awards ceremony will be held March 2 at Utkla Mandap.
