Buguda: Saroj Pradhan, son of Khali Pradhan, the sarpanch of A Karadabadi panchayat, was shot at by unidentified persons after a failed bomb attack at Sorad village under Buguda police limits in Ganjam district Friday night.
He was admitted to Bhanjanagar sub-divisional hospital and later shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur. According to sources, three unidentified people came on a bike and hurled three bombs at the house of the sarpanch.
Meanwhile, the miscreants spotted Saroj, who was coming home after taking bath, and opened fire at him. They fled after a bullet hit Saroj on his belly. A police team reached the spot and launched a probe. Police suspect the attack was the fallout of political rivalry.
