Patna: Police in Bihar’s Saran district arrested the principal, a teacher and two minor students of a private school after a Class IX student alleged Friday she was raped by them and several others for eight months.
The girl complained to police superintendent Har Kishore Rai Friday.
Police subsequently arrested Uday Kumar alias Mukund Singh, the principal of the private school in Parsagarh village, teacher Balaji and the two minor students of the school.
In her complaint, the girl said altogether 18 persons, including those arrested and another teacher and schoolmates, had raped her, but she did not approach the police as she apprehended she would be ostracized by society. She named all the 18 accused.
Police sent the girl for a medical check-up and started a search for the other accused. The girl said she was blackmailed and gang-raped by the accused ever since her father went to jail in December 2017.
Reports quoting the girl’s complaint said she was raped by three schoolmates in the school lavatory who shot a video of their act and threatened to make it public if she reported the matter to anyone.
Soon after, other accused students also joined in along with the principal and two other teachers after the video was shared. The girl says her ordeal continued till her father was released from jail.
“The poor girl apprehending stigma and the video going viral in public went on succumbing to the carnal desires of other boys and two teachers in possession of the video,” the reports quoting Rai said. He said the girl had approached the principal for help, but he called her one day after school and raped her in his chamber.
A case has been registered at the Ekma police station in Chhapra’s Parsagarh, based on the girl’s statement.
