Bhubaneswar: The body of a 45-year-old man was recovered from a temple here Wednesday morning.
According to Infocity police, the deceased was identified as Dilip Parichha of Agarapada in Bhadrak district. Parichha was residing at Bara Devi Slum in Chandrasekharpur police limits here and his body was found from Kalpaswaraya temple in Kanan Vihar Phase-II area, the police addded.
“A case (21/18) of unnatural death has been registered and the body was sent to Capital Hospital for autopsy,” a senior Infocity police officer said. The froth coming out from his mouth and the condition of the nose substantiates that he had consumed poison, he added.
According to neighbours, Parichha, a married man, had been working as a security guard and residing with his paramour for the past eight months. “The woman had developed affairs with a Kendrapara man who works as a caretaker at a nearby apartment. Parichha, father of a four-year-old girl, and the woman frequently quarrelled over the issue,” a neighbour said. However, the quarrel turned tragic Tuesday evening and Parichha left home before taking the extreme step.
Police said they have recovered a ‘suicide’ note from the spot purportedly written by Parichha. “The note read ‘no one is responsible for my death’. Besides, it contains the details of the caretaker and Parichha’s paramour,” a senior Infocity police said. “We have detained the caretaker and Parichha’s paramour for interrogation,” the officer added.
Meanwhile, Parichha’a family members claimed he was murdered.
